STEPHANE SENGIER

Belgian-born, based between Paris and Bangkok.

For more than twenty years, Stephane Sengier has worked in creative retail, shaping the visual and spatial expression of international luxury brands through image, visual merchandising, window design, and store concepts.
Over time, his practice has naturally evolved beyond retail – from creating environments designed to express a brand, to exploring how spaces can tell stories, convey meaning, and create lasting experiences.
Today, he brings this experience into the field of museography, exhibition, and cultural spaces, where storytelling, spatial design, and visual language come together.
His approach is rooted in understanding the identity and purpose of a project, then translating its narrative into a physical experience – through space, objects, scenography, light, image, and movement.
The transition from retail to museography is, for him, not a departure but a continuation: from expressing the DNA of a brand to revealing the meaning of a story.
A practice focused on creating spaces that engage, communicate, and leave a lasting impression.

My Creative Process
It starts with listening. Understanding the brand’s positioning, its strategic challenges and its ambitions. Seeing and touching: visiting the spaces, discovering the products, absorbing their atmosphere. Making connections, associations, and intuitions.
Then comes the creative process: making ideas visible in order to share and refine them.
Mood boards, images, materials, colours, cultural references — selecting, suggesting, eliminating — until the essence of the project begins to emerge.
For me, design must be meaningful. It should create emotion and invite a sensory experience, while remaining deeply connected to the brand and its vision.
This is how I approach each project: with curiosity, attentiveness and a focus on detail. Like a painter, I work by touches, gradually refining the composition until a place takes shape – with its own character, identity and signature.
